On December 16, 1960, a United Airlines jet and Lockheed Constellation collided mid-air above Brooklyn, sending the United plane crashing down into Park Slope and the Lockheed on Staten Island and killing 134 people. But according to The New York Times, apart from the unveiling of a monument at Greenwood cemetery today and the biennial floral dedication at a nearby church, there is little in the Brooklyn neighborhood to remind residents of that day.
