Wear a fancy hat (or a seersucker suit) and drink mint juleps (or bourbon) while the “most exciting two minutes in sports” unfold at the Kentucky Derby this Saturday.

The race is in Louisville, but who says you need to leave Brooklyn to watch the most anticipated horse race of the year?

Here are some places where you can party like a Southerner and hold your breath while Animal Kingdom, Midnight Interlude, Mucho Macho Man, Pants on Fire, Stay Thirsty, and 14 other thoroughbred horses make the Run for the Roses:

The Bell House
Party Starts: 1:00 p.m.
Post Time: 6:00 p.m.
No ticket required.
Enjoy live music and square dancing until the race kicks off.
Live band karaoke to follow the race.

Pete’s Candy Store
Party Starts: 3:00 p.m.
Post Time: 6:00 p.m.
No ticket required.
$12 buys you a bluegrass Blue-Plate Special (home-made barbecued ribs, potato salad, and dessert)
Location: 709 Lorimer Street

Brooklyn Winery
Party Starts: 5:00 p.m.
Post Time: 6:00 p.m.
$50 ticket includes three hours of open bar & entertainment.
Mint juleps, wine, beer, southern-style snacks, and games available.
Location: 213 N. 8th Street

Don’t forget to wear an impressive hat because all the parties have a hat contest!
