The owner of Lucky Lou’s, a would-be sports bar on a quiet residential street in Park Slope, gave in to community pressure and has repealed his application for a liquor license, the Brooklyn Paper reported today.

Located on Sixth Avenue in Brooklyn, the bar was supposed to cater to football fans and serve hard alcohol until 4 a.m. Residents of the area, however, spoke out against the establishment at a meeting of Community Board 6 two weeks ago, saying it would disturb the peacefulness of the neighborhood, which has a school, a library and several churches nearby.

The Brooklyn Paper says owner Luis Cordero will now cater to families.
