Home Live Wire PTA Member Escapes Prison Sentence

Providence Hogan, treasurer of the Cobble Hill PTA, avoided jail time yesterday after paying back some of the money she allegedly stole. The PTA member is accused of embezzling more than $82,000 from PS 29’s Parent-Teacher Association. She has paid $50,000 of it back so far, and she is required to make quarterly payments of $4,000 for the next two years. She could be arrested if she misses even one payment.

As treasurer from 2008-2010, Hogan allegedly used PTA money for rent and for fertility treatments.

Hogan apologized to several PS 29 parents for her actions.
