The Paul Robeson Theater, a worn out – but newly appointed – Brooklyn landmark, has found a patron in Councilwoman Letitia James who said she’ll find city money to pay for repairs but only if the theater’s current management is replaced.

The theater’s owner, Josephine English, 90, said she can’t afford upkeep on the 147-year-old building on Greene Street. The theater’s director, Rick Davy, said English has no interest in selling the theater.

Neighbors say falling debris from the building poses a public safety hazard.
