The United States attorney’s office in the Eastern District of New York has named Marshall L. Miller as the new criminal division chief.

Miller, an experienced federal prosecutor, will assume the new post on Friday, according to a report by the New York Times. Prior to this appointment, he has served as the deputy chief of the criminal unit and head of the violent crimes and terrorism division. He has also helped out in the unsuccessful mayoral campaign of his brother, A. Gifford Miller, in 2005.
