This has been a tight stalemate for two candidates in southern Brooklyn. In a special election for the 27th district, both Democrat Lewis Fidler and Republican David Storobin claimed victory in a tight race  to replace State Senator Carl Kruger after polls closed Tuesday night. Unofficial results from Tuesday night showed Storobin ahead by 120 votes, with at least 757 paper absentee ballots remaining to be counted starting next week. The board received 1,194 absentee ballots.
