The makers of the Kony 2012 video released a new video last night, April 4, around 9 pm.
The video trumpets the success of the first video and calls on viewers to contact government officials. “Telling your leaders that you care is critical to the success of these efforts,” Filmmaker Ben Keesey urges in the video. “Your voice changes everything.”
While the new video gives a more specific explanation of what the campaign seeks to accomplish—citing international cooperation in addition to a military-only option—the rousing music and bold declarations that characterized the first piece remain woven into the structure. “THE BETTER WORLD WE WANT IS COMING,” one title card proclaims.
