Brooklyn residents were not happy after they got a look Thursday night in Red Hook at new flood maps drawn by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA officials told residents that buildings that received federal assistance after Hurricane Sandy will have to be elevated a foot above FEMA’s old guidelines. Residents expressed frustration at the costs and logistical problems of such a requirement as well as fears of rising insurance premiums.
