A Summer Meal in Brooklyn

Staff members of The Brooklyn Ink went into the lives and kitchens of some of the borough’s residents to find out what people are cooking and eating in Brooklyn this summer. In Greenpoint, a self-proclaimed “weird food creator” proves that sauces, when paired correctly, are more than condiments. In Cobble Hill, a foodie kicks off her shoes and cooks a chicken and chickpea salad based on a recipe she found years ago in The New York Times. And in Bedford Stuyvesant, an elderly woman with roots in South Carolina stews chicken feet, dumplings, and meatballs covered in gravy for a new take on Southern cuisine. We invite you to check out these stories by the Ink’s current staff.
