Low voter turnout in Central Brooklyn
Around 98,000 people voted on Tuesday in District 11, according to the current and still unverified tally, reports Patch.com. In comparison, more than 230,000 district residents voted in 2008. Such lack of interest is not new. Less than 100,000 votes were cast in the district in 2006. In 1998, that figure fell below 85,000.
