Kenneth Yulfo, 39, from Sheepshead Bay, got his first tattoo in 1996. Yulfo says he chose to have a dolphin because he’s drawn to the creatures’ “beauty, intelligence and grace.”

Yulfo, a body shop owner, gets his tattoos done by the same Coney Island artist. He says it’s important to him to feel “safe and comfortable.”

Yulfo already had his first tattoo when he met wife, Diane. The couple has since gotten all their tattoos together. “She’s braver than me,” Yulfo says, “She always goes first and then holds my hand.”

When his mother died last year he had a commemorative piece, a portrait of her face with wings behind it, tattooed on his shoulder. He chose to have to have it there because “she’s always watching my back.”
