A 21-year-old man was charged with the attempted murder of a police officer among other charges, having allegedly shot the officer at point-blank range in the head, the Wall Street Journal reported. Miraculously, the 29-year-old officer survived and is in stable condition at Manhattan’s Bellevue Hospital. The suspect, Luis Ortiz, taunted police and press as we was led in handcuffs from the 90th Precinct station in Brooklyn.
