The French Connection

Starting in September MS 51 in Park Slope will add a dual language program to meet the needs of students transitioning from PS 58, in Carroll Gardens, which has two French-English dual language classes from kindergarten through fifth grade. Experts say there is an increasing interest in bilingual education throughout New York City.

Brooklyn College Faculty Members Win Big

Residents Vote to Decide How to Spend $1 Million

Participatory budgeting is when community members give their ideas to improve the neighborhood and vote on which ideas get funded. City Councilmember Brad Lander has set aside $1 million to fund these ideas. Residents voted early this week at Lander’s office in Park Slope.
