Boy, 11, killed in fire

An 11-year-old boy was killed in a fire on West 24th Street on Coney Island early this afternoon. Police responding to the fire found the boy unconscious and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at Coney Island Hospital.

Chocolate for a Cause

With a day off school for Presidents Day, three young Windsor Terrace residents sold hot chocolate to raise money for Haiti. Business was brisk, and many customers donated more than the $1-per-cup price. All proceeds will be donated to Partners in Health, an organization providing health care services and resources to residents in Haiti.
